Selfies

Today we had our Annual Back to School Convocation. Let me just say I could not be more proud to be a part of the Spartanburg District 2 family and especially CFG! CFG won the School Climate award for the cleanest school in our division. Mrs. Janice, Mr. Sam, David, and Austin work very hard and do an outstanding job!!
Our 2013-2014 District Teacher of the Year challenged us to be persistencant, have a purpose, and to take care of our selfies! He encourged us to take selfies with those who are special, special moments, places, occasions, etc. Tori Fowler, our student teacher, and I took our selfie together today. I'm looking forward to her time with our class this year!

Welcome Class of 2026

I'm super excited to be your child's teacher this year. We are going to have some fun days, amazing days, unforgettable days, challenging days, funny days, frustrating days, and just plan crazy days, BUT, we will have learning experiences through each and every one of them.  In our classroom we  WILL make mistakes and that's okay because that's one of the ways we learn. Make a mistake...reflect...regroup...try again (and again, if needed)...succeed! We are a family in room 104!! We build each other up, we encourage one another, we clap, we cheer, give high-fives, hugs, and love each other.

The purpose of  this blog will be to keep you informed, updated, engaged in our learning, and involved. I'll post, Ms. Fowler (our student teacher) may post, and eventually I will allow students to post to the blog. Those could be interesting. Remember they do have the spelling abilities of a 6 or 7 year old. 😀 Spelling is, for the most part, inventive, at this stage in life.  I don't correct all spelling errors. I hope you won't either as they explore sounds and spelling.

A little about my summer...

  • Jason (my husband) traveled to Ecuador twice to work with orphanages with our church. We have been foster parents for almost a year and a half. We most recently had 3 beautiful girls for almost 10 months! They were 2, 3, and 4. YES, we were a little crazy at times but we managed. Those 3 girls were reunited with their dad August 1st. I'm happy to say they are doing well and we have been in touch with them. After they returned home, Jason and I took off to Florida for the week. So, I feel, I am truly rested and ready to begin the 2014-2015 school year.

I'm elated to be partner with you as we challenge, nurture, teach, and love your child this year. Please let me know if you have any questions. Feel free to email, call, or send notes.
