MAP testing, Rocks, and Donors Choose

The things the kids are learning each day makes me so proud! They did very well on their MAP assessments. We'll discuss their scores during their student led conferences October 21st and 23rd. We are learning about Earth materials now in science. One of my favorites for a few reasons...it's hands-on, the kids find a love for research, and they do an awesome job of guiding their learning! It makes this teacher every happy! 

Dylan and Addison are having a blast exploring Earth materials in our active immersion station. Along with the actual materials to use, they get to read, scan a QR code that takes them to Blend Space where hey are able to watch videos, answer questions, and look at different pictures of Earth materials all while taking notes about what they are learning.  

These 2, Banks and Elsie made me giddy inside when they worked together to look up words in the dictionary to spell while in the writing station and used the "what can I write notebook"! I love "catching" them in action! 

A big thank you goes out to Pet Smart for the grant for a class pet. Several students asked for a class pet. How could I say no! 😉 So, we now have a fish tank with 11 fish! We just need a back drop.

We were also fortunate to have 2 Hokki Stools funded. We should have those this week. I'm looking forward to our next project! Thanks in advance!
